New lands: Designing an image of the motherland

The article focuses on the search for architectural representations of Russian Empire new lands (the Far East and Turkestan), which simultaneously became part it in late 19th – early 20th centuries. consists two parts. first one reviews spatial arrangement railways, were colonization structural frame: eastern Transsib Amur Ussuri Railways), Chinese Eastern Railway (CER), Trans-Caspian Military (TCMR). second describes evolution colonial orientalism national stylistics. draws a conclusion about variability cultural policy colonialism.
